Spring Cleaning? Gardening? Shopping?
If you are about to lift a fairly heavy item, make sure that you take a couple of moments to prepare:
- hold in your abdomen muscles (they are there somewhere!)
- keep your knees bent
- keep your back straight
- avoid any twisting as you move. If you need to move in another direction, make sure that your whole body turns and not just your head or your torso.
